It is only by knowing your passions that he can help you realize the life you want to live. That’s because some people want to put their investable assets towards life experiences while others want to minimize spending to leave the largest nest egg possible behind for their family.
Justin prefers to think not just one step ahead, but 10. Not five years from now, but decades. This bigger-picture view can help make a powerful difference in potential returns, as decisions made now could have long-lasting benefits. Once he has a better understanding of what matters most to you, he creates and implements investment strategies that strive to offer the highest probability of generating the results you desire.
These strategies are constantly refined, customized, and developed over many years. They involve in-depth reviews of financial filings and use Justin’s screening methods to help find investment opportunities that meet his high standards while aligning with your risk tolerance. The core values vital to this process include discipline, courage, and mastery with a goal of results.
Away from the office Justin was recognized as YMCA coach of the year. He coaches both track and cross country for Nike’s Bowerman Youth Track Club and St. Pius X. He enjoys quality time with his family, hiking, running, strength training and participates in competitive cycling.

He and his team work best with clients who want a trusting collaboration with their advisor, who are more moderate or conservative as investors, and who want to work toward helping build and preserve their financial security with a branch team who knows them and their financial needs personally. They partner with the client’s tax professional and attorney to help make the smartest financial decisions possible as they navigate through life. The most rewarding part of what they do, though, is helping empower clients to reach their financial goals, capture their dreams, and continuously build wealth that they can share with the people and ideals they embrace. They love simplifying things to make it easy to go live life!
Rich and his wife, Alyssa, have been married since 2005, and have three children together. They love the outdoors, camping, the coast, gardening, exploring waterfalls, and playing on the water with friends. Joseph L. Mansfield, CLU®, ChFC®
Managing Director - Investments
He strives to serve as each client’s personal CFO, helping them navigate the many moving parts of their financial lives. Joe’s planning approach begins with a clear understanding of each client’s values, family dynamics and long-term objectives. From that foundation, he focuses on coordinating retirement income planning, long-term care considerations, tax-aware strategies, multigenerational wealth transfer, and thoughtful legacy and estate planning—ensuring that decisions in one area support outcomes in all others. He views wealth management as more than investment performance; it is about integrating every aspect of a client’s financial life into a cohesive, forward-looking plan.
As clients transition into retirement, he emphasizes creating stable, reliable income strategies that support their lifestyle while balancing risk management, longevity planning and inflation protection. He also helps families prepare for efficient wealth transfer by aligning estate strategies with their values and long-term goals. Joe customizes each plan to reflect a client’s unique priorities, and his consistent communication process includes quarterly check-ins to review progress, discuss economic events and address questions with clarity and care.
Having seen throughout his career how generational wealth transitions influence families’ financial lives and the need for thoughtful guidance, Joe focuses on simplifying complex planning concepts so clients can make informed decisions aligned with their personal objectives. He has held leadership roles including Vice President, First Vice President and Senior Vice President.
Originally from Portland, he moved to Bend in 2004. As the father of a 35-year-old autistic daughter, he has a personal appreciation for long-term financial support, estate planning and trust strategies for families with unique needs.
