Institutions

Our clients are investment committees and companies, charged with stewarding endowments, foundations, union funds, nonprofit reserve funds and corporate funds who face significant challenges today. Our team partners with them to help them navigate increasingly complex capital markets, heightened regulatory oversight, increased donor expectations and significantly lower current yields combined with lower expected market returns in the future.
Fiduciary Governance

Our team seeks to relieve the investment committees of some of the heavy fiduciary burden weighing on them. We recognize that no two clients are the same and as such we have the ability to serve our clients in a variety of ways; both as discretionary and non-discretionary Fiduciary, however our commitment to our clients remains steadfast and does not change; to help them achieve their investment objectives and fulfill their organizational mission.

Policy Statement Guidance

When constructing investment programs, our team seeks to address each of our client’s unique needs and circumstances with an investment policy that clearly supports their organization’s long-term mission. We help with the development, refinement, and ongoing review/analysis of our client’s investment policy statements to ensure that the investment strategy is aligned to the organization’s goals.

Fiduciary Education

Serving you as a Fiduciary Advisor our team has a vested interest to ensure our clients have both a thorough understanding of their Fiduciary responsibilities and prudent governance processes to fulfill their duties. Change is a part of life, boards of trustees, investment committees and management are not immune to this and frequently welcome new individuals. Our team brings continuity to each of our relationships along with significant education and training resources for new fiduciaries enabling them to quickly gain a thorough understanding of the various roles, responsibilities and duties incumbent upon them.

Fiduciary Investment Advice

Drawing on our team’s extensive experience serving institutions combined with the research capabilities of the Wells Fargo Investment Institute (WFII), we partner with our clients to help them navigate the challenges they face pursuing their desired investment goals in today’s investment environment. Our dedicated WFII Global Manager Research team provides research, resources and investment due diligence capabilities which are seldom matched in the industry. The combination of which can deliver investment results over the long term.

Global Manager Research is a division of Wells Fargo Investment Institute, Inc. (WFII). WFII is a registered investment adviser and wholly-owned subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., a bank affiliate of Wells Fargo & Company.
Alternative Investments

Pensions, endowments, and institutions have long incorporated alternatives in their asset allocation framework. Some individual investors, however, may not be familiar with these important investment tools, resulting in portfolios that have exposure limited solely to traditional assets, such as stocks and bonds. Our team can help you diversify or complement a traditional portfolio with alternative investments, which include asset classes, strategies, and structures that often are different from traditional investments and employ hedging and arbitrage techniques using long and short positions, leverage, derivatives, private investments, and investments in a variety of global markets.

Alternative investments carry specific investor qualifications which can include high income and net-worth requirements as well as relatively high investment minimums. They are complex investment vehicles which generally have high costs and substantial risks. The high expenses often associated with these investments must be offset by trading profits and other income. They tend to be more volatile than other types of investments and present an increased risk of investment loss. There may also be a lack of transparency as to the underlying assets. Other risks may apply as well, depending on the specific investment product.
